ON Semiconductor qualifies SST’s OTP tech

SST claims that its OTP solution reduces production costs while maximising reliability and programming yield on ON Semiconductor's SP110 (110nm CMOS).

Silicon Storage Technology (SST), a subsidiary of Microchip Technology Inc., has revealed that ON Semiconductor has qualified the company's Smartbit one-time programmable (OTP) non-volatile memory technology (NVM) for ON Semiconductor's 110nm process node, the SP110.

The addition of SST’s SmartBit OTP complements the high-reliability, IP-rich, digital and analog offering available in ON Semiconductor’s SP110 standard cell ASIC technology, SST said.

SST’s SmartBit OTP solution reduces production costs by implementing a high-density antifuse technology in standard logic Complementary Metal-Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) without additional process steps. The Smartbit bit cell design maximises both device reliability and programming yield while offering faster programming and access time than other OTP technologies.
