Keep your drone flying stable with Infineon DPS310

Infineon brings ready-to-use drone solutions to a high-potential, emerging market. As a leading semiconductor company, we offer a complete system solution that includes every essential semiconductor, from power electronics, to controllers, to securities, to authentication, to sensors. For drones, flying is the most critical application in terms of performance, efficiency and control. With Infineon products, we address to these needs and cover all relevant aspects allowing you to design a highly-efficient drone.

Based on capacitive sensing principal, Infineon’s DPS310 can help to enhance drone flight stability and height control with high accuracy and low current consumption. This capacitive barometric pressure sensor technology integrates both barometric pressure and temperature sensing into a single, ultra-compact 8-pin LGA form factor package that measures just 2.0 mm x 2.5 mm x 1.0 mm. Satisfying demanding energy constraints, the average current consumption is just 1.7 µA for pressure measurement (falling to only 0.5 µA in standby mode).

One of the biggest advantages for using pressure sensor in drones is improved noise for longer airtime. With integrated FIFO in the host device, DPS310’s measurement precision and rate can be configured to match the requirements of the application reducing current consumption of the sensor and the system. DPS310 also improves drone attitude accuracy.
