Transition to CAN FD for speed

Infineon

In modern cars, the data exchange requirements between Electronic Control Units (ECUs) are growing at a rapid rate. The widely used CAN bus is the in-vehicle network (IVN) with the highest average quantity of nodes per vehicle and this number is due to increase even further.

To facilitate these requirements, the traditional CAN network will be replaced by the CAN with Flexible Data Rate (CAN FD). Introducing CAN FD is intended to speed up the traditional CAN bus.

While the maximum specified baud rate of the traditional CAN is 1Mbps, a new ISO standard defines the CAN FD parameters at 2Mbps or even 5Mbps.

A transition to the new spec looms ahead for designers. But Infineon has you covered with transceivers that enable easy transition to the CAN FD in-vehicle networking. Watch this webinar to learn about CAN FD and additional features Infineon is making available.
