Universal generic platform speeds up FPGA prototyping

Article By : Hitex

The Generic Tanto 3 allows user modification for rapid prototyping, integration of interfaces and for complex, yet efficient chip designs.

Hitex has developed a universal generic Tanto3 platform that can be modified according to the user’s needs for rapid FPGA prototyping. Tanto 3 features simple programming suitable for test applications, signal and bus analysis, debugging and programming as well as FPGA development. The flexible concept makes all FPGA signals accessible and allows the integration of customised interfaces without great effort, according to the company.

The Tanto3 platform is equipped with USB3.0 and Gigabit Ethernet communication interfaces. It also boasts 3.5in TFT colour touch screen. The fanless passive cooled system with its Cyclone V SoC control processor, a 1GB DDR3 RAM, a powerful Stratix V and 24MB SSRAM can be configured and used for complex designs. Applications requiring fast I/O access with complex processing power can be hosted on the FPGA and thus make the design more efficient.

Test and verification can also be accelerated since the software can be developed before the chip is available, according to Hitex.
