Horiba Ltd received a contract from the government of Chongqing city in China, to supply 25 automatic monitoring systems for factory smokestacks in the heavy chemical industry and other emitters, as a part of an effort to create infrastructure for an environmental monitoring network.

Horiba will be providing its latest model of monitoring systems to Chongqing. As an environmental model city, Chongqing involves some of the most progressive ecological initiatives of any China city. This project is expected to have future ripple effects on environmental protection across the country.

The Horiba system will link an operations center with emissions sources such as power stations and chemical factories in various locations. By remote control, it will monitor nitrogen oxides, sulfur dioxide, and other emission gases.
